About Us

Duffy London began in 2002 with Chris Duffy, a graduate of the University of Brighton, making and designing products in the kitchen of the flat he shared with his friend in London.

After the hundredth time of his flatmate complaining that his dinner was covered in saw dust Duffy London moved into a studio in east London, and became a genuine company in 2004.

Duffy London is an idea-based company, Some of our ideas run along similar themes and concepts, while others are completely different. When we gain access to new production methods this inspires us to take new directions and helps us to evolve our designs.

Once we have come up with the designs and prototypes, we work closely with our manufactures who have decades of experience necessary to turn these concepts into quality batch produced products.

Duffy London produce furniture, lighting and interior products which are designed mostly by Chris Duffy but he draws on the designers that work for him and his friends in the same industry for their assistance and contributions to the designs.

Our products are as environmentally friendly as possible, not for the feel good factor or to jump on the bandwagon, but because it makes practical sense. Manufacturing our products locally keeps communication between the designer and manufacture quick and simple meaning we can develop products far more swiftly than manufacturing abroad. This also cuts down on transport costs which are constantly on the increase, and which in turn cuts down on carbon emissions. We use recycled packaging which saves money and low energy light bulbs and electrics which last longer.

Duffy London has had the good fortune of being recognised by the press from the very beginning, appearing in most of the interior design magazines, newspapers and Sunday supplements across the world and even a few TV programmes!

Work placement scheme

Duffy London has run a work placement scheme for the past Six years. We take on postgraduates from product design, graphic design, PR and Marketing backgrounds. The placement covers all aspects of working in our design studio.

Work will contribute to the business and will need to be of the highest quality and completed to tight deadlines.

Expert knowledge of most Adobe packages is essential. Additional knowledge of CAD, and 3D packages would be an advantage for design placements.

We require a minimum commitment of 3 months. We can accommodate part-time jobs and courses, and we cover travel and lunch expenses.

Only a small percentage of applicants are suitable for these positions so please don’t be disappointed if you don’t get called for an interview.

We strive to keep our customers happy and we will try our very best to remedy any problems that the customer may have with their purchase, all queries will be dealt with quickly and professionally, customers will not be put on hold or passed from person to person.

We guarantee that any personal or financial information will be handled with the utmost security and disposed of safely.

All Duffy London products are hand made and batch produced from environmental conscious materials, any minor imperfections are evidence of their handmade craftsmanship and make every piece individual and should be cherished for these intricacies.

All Duffy London products are made in the UK and are manufactured as close to our base in London as possible, materials are sourced from UK producers wherever viable.



Terms and Conditions

As our products are handmade to order delivery can take up to 6 weeks, and up to 12 weeks on furniture.

Only couriered deliveries are insured. Products sent by Royal Mail are not insured but are sent recorded delivery.

Only orders under £50 GBP can be sent by Royal Mail.

The majority of our products are made to order or bespoke, as such we do not take returns, unless the product is faulty and that fault is the responsibility of Duffy London.

Minor imperfections due to the product being hand made by craftsmen are not considered faults, these are what make the products individual and are evidence of their exclusivity and that they are not just another mass-produced piece.

Products made using customers own images and specifications cannot be refunded.

Products will need to be returned by the customer in the same condition they were received before any replacement/refund can be issued.

Customers must return faulty items within 14 days for replacement/refund.

All postage and courier charges are not reimbursable, carriage reimbursement may be offered at the discretion of Duffy London.

All products and orders (or part of orders) remain the property of Duffy London until payment is made in full.
